[opensuse] drag and drop in kde4.
Is it possible to drag a folder from the Desktop to dolphin? When I do it it just moves behind the dolphin window. What a Pain! L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

If i remember correctly, this is a suggestion for addition in 4.1. Fred -- Linux is an old Latin word meaning, "I don't have to support your Windows anymore." -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You can't do much with the Desktop. I can't even drag a file on the desktop to a folder. it reminds me of when I had to use XFCE and have a file manager open all the time. You aren't and is one reason, among many, that I refuse to install KDE 4 anywhere. Eventually, "4" will be great, but it's a long way off, IMHO. Fred I see that 4.1 is due next month. Will SuSE provide an upgrade for us? Or is it easy to install anyway.? Actually I'm thinking of going back to 3.5 until

You can install KDE4.1 now by selecting the appropriate repository. The 4.1 is not the 'final' release but you can see what it may or may not contain. I wonder why they called it DOLPHIN? It's normally a mill-stone which is around one's neck or, for a mariner, an albatross around the neck. More importantly, what did they do with Kong filemanager mode? Kong was one of the best filemanagers around. While I always use mc (Midnight Commander) as my preferred file manager, I do use konqueror, in file manager mode, on occasions to view graphics (jpgs, gifs). For this reason I support your comment that 'Kong' is one of the better file managers around - and "The Albatross" is simply that, an albatross. Sorry, I meant to state dolphin. If you like mc (dual pane filemanager) try Krusader - its KDE GUI with lots of functionality. I'm a real keyboard freak, and Krusader provides really great shortcuts to almost all file actions. Hi. It's the dragging and dropping to and from the desktop I miss. Surely it must be implemented soon. kde3.5 users refuse to use it. I know I'm missing something and I'm sure drag and drop will be implemented in kde4 soon. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Unfortunately I can't. I'm on a tight budget school lan with no spare machine to use as a test bed. But I really do need that drag and drop. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
