[opensuse] Repositories for 13.1rc1
Hi, I hope that this question is directed to the correct mail list. I have had opensuse 13.1 installed on my laptop since milestone 1, and have managed to find the correct repositories for each upgrade in milestone status. I am presently at 13.1 Beta 1, but can't figure out which repositories to have configured in yast to get it to update to 13.1 rc1. I am hoping that I don't have to download the whole iso again to get it to update to rc1. Can someone provide me with some help with this? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi
From my recent thread:

I then had to remove the update repo and then re-add it to get to the rc. Both using Yast. You then just do a zypper dup. No, Factory keeps moving.. it has diverged from 13.1 in non-subtle ways by now, including major earlier changes like replacing mkinitrd with dracut, new systemd versions..etc.. -- "If debugging is the process of removing bugs, then programming must be the process of putting them in." - Edsger Dijkstra -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

With a release cycle of 8 months you *can't* stop ;-) -- "If debugging is the process of removing bugs, then programming must be the process of putting them in." - Edsger Dijkstra -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I think the OBS based workflow is getting smoother and smoother. This is the earliest I've seen the freeze / split / unfreeze. The freeze went in with Beta 1, but the split was shortly thereafter. A unlimited unfreeze apparently happened shortly after that. The official 13.1 repos are already populated with RC1, but there are still some major bugs, so don't treat it as ready for upgrade unless you are ready for some headaches. Also, if you do jump to RC1, make sure your OSS repo is set to refresh. It is not static yet like it will be after release.
