i'm running 10.0 with a custom kernel 2.6.16.2. when i did a kernel update with yast, the system downloaded and applice several kernels older than 2.6.16 why is this? its not right is it for yast to put an older file than i had. -- Edward Dunagin-Dunigan 4646 Glenwood Drive Bozeman, MT 59718 mobile 406-570-0992

If you do a kernel update with yast yast looks for the most recent kernel it has in its software repository, my bet is that your custom kernel is not in it, so yast installs the latest kernel it has available. Chris Maaskant.

You could search for the kernel with software module in yast, the right click on the kernel and select "protected" (translated from dutch) in the menu, it's the option with a lock as a symbol. It lets yast know that this package must never be updated/changed when you are performing a online update. Chris Maaskant.
