[opensuse] switched email
I have switched the email address I use for this list to this address. I got tired of gmail not showing me my own emails, which makes following the threads a little more difficult. Do I need to let anyone know, like a moderator or anything? Or is it just sufficient to start using this email address? -- George Box #1: 42.1 | KDE Plasma 5 | AMD Phenom IIX4 | 64 | 32GB Box #2: 13.1 | KDE 4.12 | AMD Athlon X3 | 64 | 4GB Laptop #1: 13.1 | KDE 4.12 | Core i7-2620M | 64 | 8GB Laptop #2: 42.1 | KDE Plasma 5 | Core i7-4710HQ | 64 | 16GB -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You can post from anywhere, but to receive postings, you need to subscribe from your new address. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (-1.2°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

No. Just subscribe and start posting :-) A trick with gmail could be to subscribe two addresses, and use the 2nd to post for the 1st (needs registering). I haven't tried. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

Or use gmail via IMAP in Thunderbird. M -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

No, that does not help with this particular issue. To clarify: gmail intentionally deletes mails that it thinks are duplicates. Thus, for instance, you never receive a copy from mail you send yourself to a mail list. Or, if you get both a direct reply and an onlist copy, you never get the onlist copy. This "feature" of gmail breaks somewhat mail list experience. One could subscribe with address 'one', and nomail with address 'two'. Then intentionally reply and post with address 'two'. This way you get all onlist replies on 'one' and direct on 'two'. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

Yes, that is what my experience has been. So, this is the first full thread I have read from this new email address, and it really is much nicer when I see my own emails there within the thread. -- George Box #1: 42.1 | KDE Plasma 5 | AMD Phenom IIX4 | 64 | 32GB Box #2: 13.1 | KDE 4.12 | AMD Athlon X3 | 64 | 4GB Laptop #1: 13.1 | KDE 4.12 | Core i7-2620M | 64 | 8GB Laptop #2: 42.1 | KDE Plasma 5 | Core i7-4710HQ | 64 | 16GB -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I wondered what happened to "Hotel California". Now I know, Jyh-Shyong, if you read the very last 2 lines of this email (or any email from an opensuse mailing list) you will find the secret incantation that lets you unsubscribe.
