Has it been confirmed that SUSE is not going to provide an update that will allow PHP/Apache2 to run with mysql? Well, that is not true. I've SuSE 9.1 installed with mysql, php 4.3.4 and apache2 and everything is working just fine. and, in earlyer version of SuSE (9.0) the same thing, but compiled by myself. yesterday, i've compiled apache 2.0.49 and PHP 4.3.6, staying only with mysql from the installation of SuSE, and everything is working with no problems !!! Even when apache was installed by SuSE, the online update provided updates and patches... Best regards Bruno Santos
If you're talking about the 9.1 Pro version, works here like a charm, the
"out-of-the-box" version, (BUT with all the official updates)
Workin' with phpMyAdmin and SquirrelMail currently

I think your problem may not require a recompile. I installed apache2, mysql and php during install on 9.1 and have no problems. Maybe one of the other packages "broke" the php? Is there any easy way I can send you what packages I have installed and would that help? Greg Engel

1) It was originally reported that PHP was configured without mysql. 2) There may have been updates that fixed the problem. 3) Yet, info.php was still reporting it was configured --without-mysql. 4) I loaded up my mysql DB on 9.1 and it is working fine with apache2/php/mysql. Thanks for the offer of files, looks like I won't need them. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S. Mine worked great too with my initial install of 9.1. But after upgrading the system using apt-get and YOU, I can't even get my http://localhost page to show up, much less get my PHP code displayed. Aaahhh! Is anyone successfully running the latest versions of these apps on their 9.1 box? Thanks. -- Trey Sizemore trey@fastmail.fm

Yes... Apache2, php, and mysql are all talking to each other under 9.1 here.
