[opensuse] openSUSE 11.0 Updater in KDE3.5 question
Hello SUSE folks. After a fresh and clean installation of SUSE 11.0 I don't see openSUSE Updater icon in the System Tray in KDE 3.5 environment. YaST shows that only kde4-opensuse-updater was installed in the system. Does it mean that openSUSE 11.0 has dropped openSUSE Updater for the older KDE3.5? If not, where I can find this updater for KDE3.5? I don't feel comfortable enough to jump into half cooked KDE4 yet :-) Thanks in advance, Alex -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Search for updater in the menu search. Then right click on applet and click on "Start updater on login" It may also be under KDE Button -> System -> Desktop Applet (this is using the KDE 4 menu type, should be similar with KDE 3 Classic. -- Michael S. The kde4-opensuse-updater has no problems running in a kde 3.5 session. The problem is, that it's not shown in the start menu (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=403473) You can start it with ALT+F2 -> "opensuseupdater-kde" Greetings -- Thomas Schmidt (tschmidt [at] suse.de) SUSE Linux Products GmbH :: Research & Development :: Internal Tools "A strange game. You can start it with ALT+F2 -> "opensuseupdater-kde"
