run...run very fast. *I* didnt, but we have done one. sAx barfed on it. the one we had (was like 19"?) had a very wierd aspect ratio, like 1600x1024. anyway, someone whacked on the modelines for a coupla hours and got it working perfectly. -- ======================================================================== Rocky McGaugh Atipa Linux Solutions Linux Systems Engineer www.atipa.com rocky@smluc.org rmcgaugh@atipa.com ======================================================================== On Tue, 4 Jan 2000, Even Sandsmark wrote:

If you're referring to the 1600SW, it's a GORGEOUS display, but a royal pain in the butt to configure. The Number9 video card is serviced by the Imagine128 (XFCom_I128) X server, and SaX auto-detects it just fine. The 1600SW is listed in the Display list (under SGI, iirc), but SaX doesn't configure all of the modelines properly to get the display to operate at 1600x1024 or 800x480. You have to hand-edit /etc/XF86Config to taste (we found the modelines on the XFree86 web page, I believe). -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 _\_V -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
