Hi When I try to start Yast 2 in KDE3 I get this: " Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Invalid XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 key (failed key comparison) y2controlcenter: cannot connect to X server :0.0" This came when I tried from Superusermodus Terminal. I dont manage to start Yast 2 in any way. Could somebody explain what the message abov mean, and how can I fix it? Ulf

The X-Session you are running is 'owned' by you, the 'normal' user. Since 'root' is not the same user as you, root has no permissions to start applications on 'your' desktop. When trying to start yast2 from a console/xterm window, type (as 'normal' user kdesu yast2, that should work. Gr. GJR

I assume this Supermodus Terminal serves the same function as running "su" in any terminal. Running "su" alone doesn't allow you to connect to the root X terminal, so trying to run a program won't work because it can't connect to a place to display itself. You might want to try running "sux" from a terminal, because that allows you to connect to root's X terminal (however, I remember reading on this list that it doesn't work anymore...). DoPo
