[SLE] Updating SuSE 6.3 by FTP halts on libc.rpm...
Hi! The last couple of days I have been trying to update my SuSE 6.3 installation by using FTP over the Internet, but the process keeps hanging on d1/libc.rpm (a 12MB file). I decided to nuke the temp directory to see if I can get the process restarted. Hard drive space should not an issue since I have 83% free of a 6.4GB hard drive. I was able to retrieve 200 of 650 packages before this problem popped up. Any ideas? Also, while having the maximum bandwidth of a 56K modem connection to update my installation would highly efficient, but it also taking away bandwidth from other web users on the network. Any idea how I can throttle the bandwidth that's being used to retrieve the updated packages? Thanks! Try unselecting that particular rpm when you select the packages to update. With such a slow connection it may be better to wait and buy suse 6.4. -- Rafael -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
