-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 OK, I'm losing it. I'm trying to edit the System branch of the KDE Menu. If I click on the item in the menu, I see a *LOT* of different things under it. If I call up the menu editor and expand System, there is nothing there. How do I get to the items that actually show in the menu? tia - ---Michael -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBNfksjeziQOokQnARAk5uAJ9DEkUGc+36F4uezfJ86SFUktM6OwCbBoa+ 5C3dPQoupKnGoK7zYsBt7WA= =Lu4v -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I fixed that problem on 9.0, by updating KDE.

I'm glad that you were able to get it to run on your system, but... I'm running 9.1 and I'm up to date on my Yast updates. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBNf5mjeziQOokQnARAmGVAJsEm8AflyO3oux3XNWq2BkOZfelHQCgtSXw W2NuMhPELq/1lnV/or5e6q8= =raj/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

AFAIK if there are no relevant apps then the menu folders are set to not display. This is also why if there is only one app the menu often shows the category ie RealPlayer 10 in 9.1 is menu'd as Video Player.

Except that if I click on the System menu, there are no less than 17 items on the list. It's only when I go to the menu editor that there is nothing there. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBNgWBjeziQOokQnARAkh2AJwKFR6pWyAkHy6ogSUijgx/w+4HlgCgkDrQ 3dhkdKzhUBcYzn3RMG+KP9Q= =ik5y -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
I've noticed similar issues. Another being that you might make a change that doesn't show up for awhile then suddenly appears or you make a change like delete an unwanted item and it throws it under Applications. This is a problem that needs to be fixed. Better QA would catch this. We won't even get into menu items that do nothing (or appear to). If an application doesn't launch on a base intall it shouldn't be there. <<JAV>> ---------- Original Message ----------- From: Michael Satterwhite <michael@weblore.com> To: SUSE <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Sent: Wed, 1 Sep 2004 12:23:05 -0500 Subject: Re: [SLE] KDE Menu Editor
