[SLE] Mounting remote orb drive via samba
Hi had a nasty experience with mounting an orb drive on a win95 pc from a linux box. The drive mounted fine, but after a while crashed, taking the pc with it (no suprise there, somehow), but it also froze kfm which was accessing the mounted drives at the time. Trying to umount the share failed, as kfm had hung which meant 'resource busy' type of problem. I couldn't seem to 'kill -9' kfm either, it just didn't seem to die. What I would like to know is whether an option exists in smb.conf which can help deal with this situation - i.e. a remotely mounted smbf drive crashes making it difficult to umount the offending drive as the application accessing the drive then hangs. If a shared drive becomes unavailable (i.e. it crashes / machine goes down), can the share be umount'ed autmatically somehow?
