RE: [SLE] can't mount floppy from 6.3 with RH 5.0
Hi, The problem has to be in how he is trying to mount it. How is he doing it? Is he leaving out the type option? It should look like this mount -t ext2 /dev/fd0 /(preferred mount point) Can you provide more info? Tim

I tried two times to take a floppy to work with wvdial on it. Both times the fellow says his RedHat 5.0 system will not read the floppy. My son's system with SuSE 6.3 reads the floppy with no problem. I formated the floppy to the 1440, ran mke2fs and copied the files to it.
He told me his system says he needs some kind of parameter, but I don't know what is wrong. Can someone explain to me why his RedHat 5.0 system won't mount a floppy made by my SuSE 6.3 system, and what I must do to format a floppy that he can read with his RedHat system.
