[SLE] Problem with installation of Suse Linux 10.1 64bit
Does anyone install the 64bit Suse Linux 10.1 release? I have downloaded all the n.5 iso images and burned on my CDs but during the installation from CD1 of "linux32_1.0_349.x86_64.rpm (10.65Kbyte)" the following error appeared: "the package has not been found on the media" If I click on details the following sentence appear: "Err:3: Package Isof-4.76-11 fails integrity check. Do you want to retry downloading it or abort installation?" I have downloaded again the iso CD1 file and burned it on CD. But the problem occurs again and in the same point. All the n.5 CD have been checked during installation and no problem raised on checksum. Flavio

hey i<m kind of new to all the linux world and i installed suse linux after being encouraged by my friends. When i try to open an mp3 with Banshee or totem it ask me for some decoder i dont have and it do the same thing when i try to open any media file .... someone can tell me how to install the software or give me a link to a tutorial page < thanks

Hi Jean, You need to install this: http://havardk.xmms.org/dist/xmms-1.2.7-rh8-rh9-rpm/xmms-mpg123-1.2.7-21.i38... To get banshee to play mp3, you need to install the helix backend ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/10.1/inst-source-extra/suse/i586/banshee-engine-helix-0.10.9-21.i586.rpm You will also need to install the helix packages from that same directory xmms has nothing to do with banshee, and lame is an encoder, not a decoder But for other multimedia needs, http://packman.links2linux.org is your best bet -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
