Greetings, I would like to make a request for Gnome, and maybe this should go out to the development community as well, but there does not seem to be a whole lot of Widgets or Panel Applets included for Gnome/ KDE. It would be nice to see more of these. We can take example from Macintosh and os X. They have thousands of widgets for thier desktop. Why can't we do the same. Would be fun/cool/awesome to see this happen. Widgets are awesome. -Cameron
Widgets can be done through superkaramba or gdesklets and have been done before mac. Native integration is another story. From what I understand, KDE 4 is supposed to have native superkaramba/widget support. There is also a project called Plasma (http://plasma.kde.org/cms/1029) that should help. I do not know much about gnomes future plans. ::Mark Cameron Seader wrote:

Would be nice to have them in the distro. Added them to the wishlist. -- houghi http://www.opensuse.org/index.php/Making_a_DVD_from_CDs

I was sure gDesklets had made it into one of the earlier betas (think I saw it in B3) but apparently not in RC1 - was I imagining it? And if you think we ain't got lots of little things for people to play with/use in GNOME, you should see my panel ;) -- James Ogley james@usr-local-bin.org GNOME for SuSE: http://usr-local-bin.org/rpms Make Poverty History: http://makepovertyhistory.org
