Hopefully someone can help me out with this. I have a file that I created in kword. I emailed the file to myself, and now I need to open it at work. The problem is at work I'm stuck on a windows 2000 box, and when I try to open the fiel in word, notepad, or wordpad I just get gibberish. Any ideas? TIA! Daniel

You'll probably have to save the document in either plain text, perhaps XML or try the option Microsoft Write Document from the drop down list in the save box. From where you're sitting right now at work, you might be out of luck. -- Bryce Hardy (Santa Rosa, CA) cygnia@sonic.net

Check that it hasn't got corrupted in transit: email it back home and try to open it again with kword. I found once that a company mail system was corrupting some file types: I had to send them inside a zip file always. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
