Although KDE 2.2 isn't out on the official site, it's on the SuSE ftp site. I'm sending this message from Kmail running on KDE 2.2 and the 2.4.8 kernel; and everything seems to work just fine... cheers, Gideon.
May I ask where you find it on the Suse ftp site. I do seem to be able to see it. Thanks bob On Tuesday 14 August 2001 08:16, Gideon Hallett wrote:

Well, you can try ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/KDE2/update_for_7.2/ or http://www.suse.de/en/support/download/LinuKS/i386/update_for_7_2/ The usual places, in other words ;) Gideon.
Well you lucky guy :-). I have quite a lot of problems with this release. - Somehow the https protocol isn't supported in konqueror; - Kuickshow is quite unstable; - Kdevelop is the worst release since 1.4. It crashes a lot...; And that's just after a few hours mainly working with Kdevelop. Even the beta was better than this release. Normally I update with the packages from KDE (not from suse)...I hope this isn't a suse thing because then I would be very disappointed. Nash P.S. 1 Of course I really love working with the KDE desktop and there is no more Windows on my pc :-). P.S. 2 Does anybody know if SuSE will release a KDE compiled with that prelinking thingie (I would like that 50% gain in speed :-)))? On Tuesday 14 August 2001 17:16, you wrote:

I know I'm not the only one with this problem. There was a short thread on it this morning. And what is that Steven's fix you are talking about? Nash On Tuesday 14 August 2001 16:48, you wrote:

It works for me(tm) :)
I did have konqi crash on me, but Steven's fix helped that.

Look at the thread 'JavaScript in Konqueror'. Essentially, you remove 'about:konqueror' as your startup page, and konqi will stop seg faulting. Anders On Tuesday 14 August 2001 16:49, Nash Hoogwater wrote:

Well at least I didn't have that problem (I already used another startuppage), so that doesn't solve my problem. Well I probably have to wait unitl ftp.kde.org is back up again :-(. Nash P.S. I think I'm going to reinstall OpenSSL, maybe that works for me. On Tuesday 14 August 2001 17:01, you wrote:
