[opensuse] Resolution problem
Hello, On my 11.3 KDe system I use intel DG41 onboard graphics chipset. Problem is, every time I boot my pc, the system gets back to 1024*768 resolution. Is there any way to fix it on 1280*1024? I can't seem to find my xorg.conf either. In /etc/X11/ there's a file named xorg.conf.d but not xorg.conf Anybody with any solution? -- I am me, I wanna be me. I put this line in my home folder .bashrc file xrandr --output default --mode 1280x1024 --preferred There are better files (search for recent thread by me on the same) to put it but can't find them at the moment. THis is the one I was talking about from David Haller Neither are a good place. You should use ~/.xinitrc or /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc (after the "Add your own lines" comment). I have e.g. 'xset -b b 0' and a 'nvclock' call there ;) HTH, -dnh -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I've put the line xrandr --output default --mode 1280x1024 --preferred below the "Add your own lines" comment, but still no luck. System is booting like before. -- I am me, I wanna be me. When you boot with wrong resolution, can you succesfully run this line xrandr --output default --mode 1280x1024 --preferred in terminal? Does it change the resolution? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I had a similar problem which was resolved by adding nomodeset to the kernel commandline and setting NO_KMS_IN_INITRD to yes in the sysconfig HTH Dx -- “ ‘... but there is so much else behind what I say.
