OK, before I get burried in helpful people (thanks all) I have a problem and will fix it over night. I suspect that the KDE 3.1 -> 3.1.1 upgrade has broiken file signing. Encryption works, just that signing gives a bad sig. I'll post back the fix when I sus it out. Thanks for the help... Tom

OK, just to update. I think there may be a problem with KMail 1.5.1 in this somewhere. If I have the key in my keyring and email myself a signed file using the crypto plugin the signature comes out bad, but if I remove that key from my keyring the signature is ok, but marked as untrusted. Would it be possible for someone else to try attaching a file, signing and emailing me or themselves it to see if it's a KMail problem or something with my setup. Thanks, Tom
