All,
I want to capture some video of my screen with the mouse moving for training/documentation purposes.
Is there a tool for that? I saw camstudio recommended somewhere else, but I don't see it included.
Thanks Greg
I use RecordMyDesktop for this stuff. Works quite well and has both GTK and QT frontends.
I haven't installed it yet in 12.3... there was a framerate bug (well documented) for the QT frontend that you have to workaround though (easy change in the config file).
Does it have audio functionality as well? That can be just as important as the video sometimes.
Yes it does, see: http://recordmydesktop.sourceforge.net/about.php C. -- openSUSE 12.3 x86_64, KDE 4.10 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

C. -- openSUSE 12.3 x86_64, KDE 4.10 Hi re recordmydesktop In 12.3 there only seems to be a gtk version. I Just tried it under LXDE. It still seems broken: e.g. mouse pointers aren't recorded. There's a workaround I found some time ago:
recordmydesktop -windowid $(xwininfo |grep "Window id:"|sed -e "s/xwininfo\:\ Window id:\ // ;s/\ .*//") --fps 25 --v_bitrate 2000000 -o capture.ogv BTW, to stop recording, hit Ctrl+C HTH, L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
