[SLE] Problems with Tekram DC395U PCI SCSI controller
Hello! I have serious problems with Tekram DC395U PCI SCSI controller. My desktop computer has IBM DTLA 307015 HD which runs fine in UDMA 66 mode. On Tekram SCSI controllers are attached Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-303R2.00 and Fujitsu M2513EL external MO removable drive. On my old notebook, I was using Fujitsu drive with Adaptec 1460 PCMCIA adapter without any problems. Now, I cannot normally use Fujitsu drive because either I have to use it in async mode (bad transfer-rate) or I am getting kernel errors. DVD drive is not recognized by local boot sequence, so I have inserted command to run the script rescan-scsi-bus.sh in local boot. DVD has id2 and Fujitsu now has id1 (I have also tried with id 3). Kernel errors are as follows (e.g. when running BRU backup): scsidisk I/O error dev 08:00 sector x scsi0 channel 0: resetting for second half of retries scsi bus is beeing reset for host 0 channel 0 scsi disk error host 0 channel 0 id1 lun0 returncode=27070008 The version of the Tekram driver is V1.27 (the latest one if I'm correct). Does anybody has any ideas what can be wrong, what can I do for further testing and how to get a proper setup to use Fujitsu MO normally. DVD is working OK, at leeast the CD part.
