I found out by reading this mailing list that I can make a ftp install with YaST, but - it's not documented - it's not even in the menus. You have to write it yourself - There's no overview - You can't install the system from scratch, only add packages - You can't choose several packages from different directories
I hope this will be easier in future versions.

Another point: RedHat started to use glibs with their 5.0 release. Does S.u.S.E. have any plans to move towards glibc?
Yes, but gleefully not until some of the issues are worked out.
