[SLE] SMB Share Time Stamp
Hello, I don't think this is an issue with SMB specific to SuSE 10.1 as I found the got the same result when I accessed the Windows share from a laptop I have Fedora Core 5 running on. But since SuSE 10.1 Open is what I am running on my main computer, I am asking the question here. The issue I have is that the time stamp on all the folders is Wed 31 Dec 1969 5:00:00 PM MST and this is the time stamp that is picked up when I move the folders from the Windows XP computer to my SuSE system (or Fedora Core 5). A directory on the WindowsXP box shows the correct time stamps spreading over the past 6 years. The Windows box and the Linux computers are all on the same subnet and all have the same "clock" time (although not sychcronized but within a minute of each other). Anybody have any idea of how to resolve this issue. I know you can put an time offset in the smb.conf file but this is not an offset issue as the time stamp on viewing the share is constant regardless of time or day of week. Would appreciate any guidance on this. Tempted to blame Winders on this as a XP issue but who knows? Thanks. I can't replicate this issue from WinXP Pro to a SMB share on a Slackware box (only one available atm). It keeps the timestamp the same. Thanks, Warren
