[opensuse] adding drivers for a wireless printer?
All, I just bought a Canon Pixma mx922 printer. It is working fine from windows. Canon is not showing any linux drivers for it. Looking at the HCL <https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:Printers> I don't see any Canon mx series printers. At least during the install time I can hook-up the USB cable, but to be useful I need to get it working via wireless. Am I whistling dixie. (ie. am I wasting my time?) They have drivers on the cannon site for previous models, you could try them. Or since this printer is Google Cloud Print capable you could try that route. It is possible to run Cloud Print printers on Google. They run something like CUPS. http://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2906017 And, yeah, I get why you might not want to send everything through google. But then, if you were a careful guy you would have checked the capabilities of the printer before you bought it. ;-) -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
