[opensuse] OS13.1: Alt + drag conflict between LibreOffice Calc and KDE
Hi, When I try to move some cells in LibreOffice Calc I end up moving the whole window on the desktop instead. What happens is that in KDE, pressing the ALT key and then clicking anywhere on a window and moving the mouse results in moving the window. But ALT + drag a selection is also the way to move cells in a spreadsheet using Libreoffice Calc. As a result there is no way to quickly move a row in a spreadsheet other than for example 1/inserting a blank row, 2/cut'ing the row that one wants to move, 3/pasting the cut row into the blank row and 4/deleting the blank row left after the operation. I far prefer ALT + drag So is there a way to disable the ALT + drag window behaviour of KDE? I looked in details in "Shortcut and Gestures" under "Configure Desktop" but I could not find anything. Platform: OS 13.1 / KDE 4.11.5 / LibreOffice 4.1.5.3 Thanks, /~JC -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

In KDE System Settings, go to Window Behaviour -> Window Behaviour on menu at left, then the Window Actions tab. The lower half contains the Alt + event functions, and you can set Alt + Left to Nothing, for example. I ran into this issue yestarday too. What I do is: 1. Select the cells to be moved using mouse left-click-drag. 2. Release mouse left button; selection stays. 3. Click onto the selection with left mouse button again and keep it pressed. 4. Now I press alt and drag the selection. This method prevents of stealing alt+left mouse click by KDE. I use KDE 3.5.10 in openSUSE 12.2 but I think is should not make a difference. The other way is to reconfigure alt key function in KDE settings.
