Codeweavers Wine and Crossover Office.
I have just downloaded Codeweavers' Crossover Office, but before I install I would like to know how to get rid of any directories that could be left from an earlier install of the Codeweavers' Wine package. Does anyone know where these directories would have been installed and if I can just rm -rf or are the directories spread all over the place? Cheers, Brian

Crossover Office installs everything under $HOME/cxoffice and some menu entries and icons under your KDE and GNOME directories. There will be no interactions with 'normal' Wine. - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD4DBQE8+1hi+FOexA3koIgRAnDeAJiip2yo7avKfd9qofVoEdPdjVPtAJ0eMrRZ 0I4RxOq5Tq1OTTQLQMuu3g== =HLVa -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Thanks for the info James. If I do want to get rid of Codeweavers Wine directories, how would I find out where they are and how would I do it?
Ah, I've never used their normal Wine, so I'm not sure. Was it an RPM or a .sh? If it was an RPM, you could simply 'rpm -e <name>'. If not, you might want to look around in /usr/local. If you still can't find it try looking at CodeWeaver's support pages and/or checking their mailing lists. They're always very helpful. - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8+11++FOexA3koIgRAom6AJwIJCa9Tx/T8GeH8vjI92cNNBX4gACgrvlu 2IQS2jzBblW6znrxhKEWtqk= =umTY -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
Having had Wine then buying CrossOffice, I just uninstalled the wine program with xrpm, then deleted all the directories related. After installing CrossOffice, I realized they would never have seen each other. On another note, the program works very well. I'm using it in an everyday work environment where using Excel and ACT is critical. You should like it. Tom On Mon, 2002-06-03 at 04:51, James Oakley wrote:
