Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Need help with LILO
Running Win95? WHY? Oh well... no holy wars from me. Install the rescue/safety disk you made when you installed. Didn't make one?? SHAME... Get someone else to make you a rescue disk under win95. Boot from that disk and enter the command prompt. execute the commabd: fdisk /mbr This will rewrite the master boot record to win95 ONLY... Reboot you should be good to go. philsf@altavista.net wrote:
Hello ALL,
I'm not quite sure if this is the right place to post this question, but I really don't know any other option, in this particular case.
I installed LILO in the MBR of the HD which hosts my linux partition and my win95 ones. The problem is, when I deleted my linux partition to re-install i later, I lost the ability to boot Win95, because LILO could not find the Linux Native partition. My question is: HOW can I remove LILO from the MBR, without repartitioning the whole HD? And, can I use LILO from anywhere but the MBR and the floppy (I saw another option in the Slackware install, I think it had something to do with the root parition of linux, but dunno for sure...)
In advance, I thank you all
