Hi all, is there a way to create a bootable CDRW containing a UDF filesystem ? The basic idea is to boot a mini Linux and after boot mount the CDRW and write some log files to the media. Did someone manage to get this working ? Thanks in advance, Tobias

I'm no expert on this but: I think most boot CDs have an initial fake floppy image. The PC bios is smart enough to boot the fake CD. Normally the fake CD has a boot loader in it that is smart enough to understand the filesytem and boot on up. So conceptually you are just requesting that the fake CD have UDF drivers. I can't help any more, but maybe that will help you google for the answer. Greg -- Greg Freemyer

Bootable cdrom => see El Torito specification. Perhaps you should ask the k3b guys at http://www.k3b.org/. They know a lot of writing cd's/dvd's. (I haven't heard of a bootable UDF filesystem on cdrom, but that does not mean it's impossible.) Cheers, Leen
