[opensuse] KDE 4.11/12.3 Problem with KDE Services
Hi ! I have updated KDE 4.10 to 4.11 / OpenSuSE 12.3 on Lenovo ThinkPad, and got these problems: 1) KDE Power management doesn't work anymore (powerdevil can't be started). 2) Keyboard daemon can't start. Before update to 4.11 everything worked fine. systemctl status upower.service returns OK. I have updated 4.11 again with latest patches 10 minutes ago. KDE Services 4.11 were updated, but nothing have been fixed, problem with these services persist. Anyone have any clue what went wrong? Thanks in advance. If I read that correctly, you upgraded to 12.3. Powerdevil is nowhere to be found on my 12.3 system, it is no longer used. Go to System Settings in KDE, select power management under the hardware section. This works perfectly for me. As for the keyboard daemon, no clue what you are talking about or why you need that. There are big changes from 11.x to 12.3, and insistence on getting everything that use to run with the same utilities is pointless. -- Explain again the part about rm -rf / -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I take it back, powerdevil is on my machine but it seems totally subsumed by KDE. No process by that name is running, yet power management functions all work. -- Explain again the part about rm -rf / -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
Hi, John, Thanks for reply. No, 12.3 was used for quite long time. I upgraded KDE from 4.10 to 4.11, from official KDE repositories. I checked versions of libs and components, everything is from 4.11 repo. On Sep 6, 2013, at 9:25 PM, John Andersen <jsamyth@gmail.com> wrote:
