This is a notebook pc with the following specicification : Intel Pentium 4 2.4 ghz, 256 mb ddr ram, 30 gb hard disk cd-rw/dvd-rom, nVidia GeForce 420 go graphics Built in modem (softmodem, hence useless for linux) Built in LAN Bundled with WinXP SuSE 8.2 professional installed "out of the box" and on first sight only the modem was not recognised. This is not a problem as the pc has two pcmpcia card slots and a pcmcia modem card is available if necessary. Regards. LW999
