Hi I'm installing Nagios on my little network, using Yast "directly" from SuSE. it installed ok, i am now trying to configure it. anything i should watch out for? When i was reading trough the documentation it refers to /usr/local/nagios/ is there any documentation from SuSE that shows the changes that is done? regards Even

Suse setups nagios as such
/etc/nagios - config files (Need to edit configurations)
/usr/lib/nagios/cgi - main cgi files (add the .htpasswd and .htaccess files)
/usr/lib/nagios/plugins - nagios plugins (shouldn't need to change anything)
If using apache2 I added the a file nagios.conf to the /etc/apache2/vhost.d
directory
----nagios.conf----
Thank you that was perfect, ill get into the configuration today or tomorrow regards Even On Fri, 2005-02-18 at 09:20 -0500, Doug Currey wrote:

----nagios.conf----
AllowOverride AuthConfig order allow, deny allow from all Options ExecCGI </Directory>
AllowOverride AuthConfig order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> ---------------------- Now in the /usr/lib/nagios/cgi create a file called .htaccess
---.htaccess---- AuthName "Nagios Access" AuthType Basic AuthUserFile /usr/lib/nagios/cgi/.htpasswd require valid-user ----------------
Finally run htpasswd2 -c /usr/lib/nagios/cgi/.htpasswd loginname
restart webserver
you should now be able to go to http://localhost/nagios/
Rest of setup is covered correctly by the standard nagios docs.
