Maybe you should explain the problem again for me.
CP
When i start real player , i ge the erro message, Cannot open the audio device. Another application may be using it.
how did you configure your sound card and what type of sound card is it ?
CP
CP thank you so much for this question. I looked at my etc/module.conf and found it had been restored to its original state, thus disabling my sound chip. It is now working again. Question for all: what does this sort of thing and when, so i know to look out for it And CP, since you're a miracle worked, maybe you can tell me how to get the parallel port zip drive to work. the line in fstab is /dev/sda4 /mnt/zip auto rw,noauto, user 0 0 and the error mesg in kfm is mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/sda4 as a block device (maybe 'insmod driver'? No problem. I am glad to hear it.
Question for all: what does this sort of thing and when, so i know to look out for it It can possibly happen when you install any rpm (i.e. updating your system). You usually[always?] get a message to indicate that some of the system configuration files have been changed.
When system fiels are updated then rpm saves the files in either : file.rpmsave - the original file - i.e. the one you changed file.rpmnew - the file rpm wants to install but it has decided to save it like this so that you can manually verify what you want to do with the file. file.rpm??? - I have sometimes seen rpm save files with other extensions but forget them at the mo. :-) A good way to check would be to use the "locate" facility e.g. $ locate rpmnew will return all the files which contain the string rpmnew. When you have a file which you are not sure about then use tkdiff to compare the 2 files.
And CP, since you're a miracle worked, maybe you can tell me how to hardly, just a process of elimination and trying to remove any assumptions from the scene :-)

I am not exactly sure so you should ALWAYS check you own docs first 8-) I think that the following should help you. file:///usr/doc/howto/en/html/mini/ZIP-Install.html Best of luck, CP -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
