I just got one of those for a problem with XDMCP on 11.4! Does XDMCP work with 42.3? When I tried this morning, I couldn't get it to work. I currently use NoMachine for remote desktop, but would much rather use XDMCP, as it provides a new desktop, rather than share the current one. On 04/12/2018 04:12 PM, David C. Rankin wrote:

Yes, I got a few of them, too. It is certainly discouraging to report a bug, take your time about it, and see no movement in years except closing it when it is too old. In the case of your bug report, however, the comments say that they could not apply the fix. They should have closed the bug longtime ago as "wontfix" or "solved upstream". Which also means that the text of the closure comment is incorrect. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.3 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

Yup. Got the same thing on a couple different bug reports. (For something that was painful to test in the first place). Its kind of the exact opposite of their approach with regard to old kernels. This is why I seldom bother filing bug reports with opensuse. -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

and you have absolutely no idea why the bug was not fixed in the timeframe allowed, so you condemn the entire system w/o reason. good move. probably there was no-one available with time or interest to work on the particular bug. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Got two of those, too. I have no real issues with it. It cleans out the list of bugs and helps the devs to get some free room. The bugs that got closed in my case were not relevant anymore, and if anything I have to grab my own nose that I didn't check and close them (or update them if the issue is still there). *If* something still is a problem, the report should have been updated to recent distribution version. I see this as the duty of the bug reporter, not the fixers.... my €0.02 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
I have purchased a Canon Color imageCLASS MF733Cdw laser printer for my OpenSUSELeap 4.2 distribution. 1. Using YAST/hardware/printer/add, I get No connections, try 'Detect More' message. 2. A Canon MF731C/733C UFRII is found at the IP address I assigned. 3. Under 'Find and Assign a Driver' the message no matching driver found is presented. At the Canon site I found a driver for linux linux-UFRII-drv-v350-usen.tar.gz I could find nothing under opensuse search tool that matched. If this is appropriate, how to I install the above tar file? I hope this description is complete enough.
