[SuSE Linux] locate not working
Hello All after a new install locate dosent seem to work i type locate filename locate: /var/lib/locatedb: no such file or dir ive tried update locatedb the man for locate works but dosent say anything about it not working ;) any ideas thanks rob - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

Try "updatedb" instead, this will create the database. try *filename* , this sometimes works for me when locate filename doesn't. Run updatedb as well.
