Add BitTorrent seed
I have the 10.1 GM downloaded and had to shutdown due to a storm. How can I add myself as a seed? I have the directory selected (using Ktorrent) but it requires at least one tracker address and I don't know what to use. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

Please don't top post.
I already have the files, I want to seed them. When I click on the torrent file ktorrent wants to download them again. The files were created by applying the delta ISO's against the RC3 ISO's and I want to seed them so others can download them faster. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

Stop ktorrent and copy the ISOs to the location that you choose to download and then start ktorrent again. It should check the files, notice that everything is downloaded and seed again, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj/ SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
Sorry about topposting, it's just the web-based Gmail client. Let's see how it works by removing the quoted part... As far as I know if you let you BT client start, by supplying a .torrent file, it will first check the status of your files then, since they have been fully downloaded, it will just indefinitely seed. Obviously you'll have to make sure your .iso are in the folder where the client expects them to be. -mw

I've done all that and ktorrent still wants to continue downloading. As was pointed out ktorrent is broken, I can only guess that this part is broken as I use it to download the delta ISO's without problem. I'll try a different client and see what happens. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

To answer my own post... I installed BitTorrent client and am now seeding the files back, not very fast but every little bit helps. This is my small part that I can contribute back to the community. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

Not quoting is also not really good. :-( http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren/
