Secret "Easter Egg": 8.0 + KDE Updates =7.3.99 !
I downloaded and installed all the SuSE KDE updates for 8.0 (except the one that relates solely to being able to use the old KDE2). Now when I boot up, the login screen says that I have version 7.3.99. In addition, I am now required to provide the root password before I can reboot. There is also no longer a shutdown option; instead it is called "halt." Assuming I haven't entered the Twilight Zone, I would appreciate hearing from SuSE or anyone else regarding what they think is going on. Thanks. geno
Did you set up X during the install or afterwards? On Fri, 10 May 2002, geno wrote:
