Hi, i have e Packard Bell EasyNote Notebook (A8750) with opensuse 10 on it. Everythings works ok, but the sound. lspci list it as "00:1e.2 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 04)" Yast load the snd-intel8x0 kernel module fot it, but i get not sound. Kmix works ok, i can listent how volume got changed, but amarok make no sound. The strange thing its when i unload the kernel module (snd-intel8x0). Whe i do that i can get the bell system sound when i press TAB TAB in konsole. But i have none /dev/dsp or /dev/snd/* so kmix dont work, amarok neither, etc. Any Ideas? Patricio Bruna V. In my previous SuSE I had my keyboard defined as US-EN-int, which meant that "+i would come as i-trema. With the newer SuSE-10 I lost the US-EN-int keyboard, and don't know where to find it. Someone a suggestion? Thanks -- Julien Michielsen julien@michkloo.xs4all.nl
Hi, If you use utf8 encode in Language configuration, you can access the accent using the combination AltR+accent+letter, for ï AltR+"+i. Thadeu On Saturday 07 January 2006 19:58, Julien Michielsen wrote:

Just search bugzilla for ac97 (search in comments) - there are several bugreports around this, some of them contain workarounds also. BTW: I "only" need modprobe snd-intel8x0 in boot.local ;-) Regards, Christian Boltz --
I also prefer realnames. But if people want to use a _spellable_ alias, it's ok for me too. However, I hate aliases like "fE3,x7~5X" ;-) Noone should use his/her password as a mail name ;-) [> Christian Boltz and meister(at)netz00.com in opensuse]
