-----Ursprüngliche Nachricht Ende----- Well, as this was Leap: if you get artefacts depend a lot on the graphic-cards chipset. There are some trouble with nvidia. The responsibility goes to nvidia (and their oss policy).
It's radeon, on an old laptop. I don't care about this problem.
Network should set up properly, if it is connected during install via ethernet in all case. What problem did you get?
It would not set up the IP at all. If I do it manually it works.
Listen, I don't need help fixing these, I know what to do.
My point is this: it still has bugs, they are nasty. Leap was supposed to be stable and polished, you know, derived from SLES12, yet it's far from that.
The update repo is a casual thing. I cannot recall when the last time the update repo did not work.
Yes, however, now it's not working for more than a day. How is this possible? Is it not monitored? Who can we contact? There's no point in debating this between us, we must reach the key people.
As for SUCKING: it depends. If you need a good BJ I cannot exclude that,
I'm sure that you never hit a nasty bug and were never frustrated. Everything in SUSE works great for you, every time. I'd like some of that too. Because for me, it's mostly ok, but from time to time, I see bugs so monstrous that I cannot comprehend how did they make it through testing. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Sorry for the blank reply, I am on my laptop and I touched the touchpad inadvertently. Radeon, this is weird, the recent card work fine. But laptop hardware sometimes is tricky. Since kernel 4.x my ultrabase does not have usb anymore when I boot. Just like that. Elderly hardware has these quirks I guess, as it gets less attention. IP: I am surprised about that one. Again I think this is related to what kind of hardware you have. At least in the setting up of the system, i never needed to go out of normal paths with leap. Repos: when a repo error comes up or a major problem of hardware, you can write an email to admin/at/opensuse.org and this opens a ticket. About the speed, you see I think this can be a chain of circumstances. I people are on holiday, if personnel is low on number for economical resources (after all, you get opensuse for free as free beer which is of course not giving you so many resources. Then there was FOSDEM so maybe there where people off duty because of that etc. And than, a classics: shit happens so when it hits the fan, everybody is trying to get everything fixed but it may take time, who knows. last: oh I regularly hit nasty bugs, I am frequently frustrated but I try at least to mitigate my sharp and nasty tongue. Like you in your and me in this case, not always I am successful but the good intentions are there. Maybe leave out at least the caps the next time, so I will not snap lol. I agree on the fact that no showstoppers should be in a release version and (when the update is working) you would be surprised, they fixed a lot, and install is much better with than without. I can understand fully you frustration that it happened when presenting the install. What can I say, "Murphy" is a real bastard and his law is preciously observed by circumstances. You were just unlucky. And take my sarcasm with the benefit of inventory. When it happens it usually refers to what has been said and not to the person. Have fun. --- Alle Postfächer an einem Ort. I don't pay attention to these until I apply updates. If there are still bugs after that, then I open a case. But now, I couldn't get updates and people around were making fun of Linux. Unpleasant.

Ok, that is useful information, thanks.

All right, don't worry, I tend to be emotional when stuff doesn't work because I care about SUSE. I still think it's the best, otherwise I would have switched to something else. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Actually, anyone who thinks Linux is a laughing matter is just very poorly informed.
