Reverting to earlier rpms
Because KDE 3.2 has been such a disaster for me, I'd like to revert to KDE 3.1.4. (I did save my ~/.kde directory.) Can I use Yast to do that if I point it at the correct collection of rpms? It would be useful to know what to expect before I actually try it. Paul Abrahams

Why not just use YaST2 and pull them from your CDs/DVD?? That would be the easiest and best way to go back to an original setup/install. You might find that it corrects many things you have probably broken and the reason you have had so much trouble with KDE 3.2, I think. :o) Lee -- --- KMail v1.6 --- SuSE Linux Pro v9.0 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...

That was my plan, but I was wondering if Yast2 chokes on replacing a package with an earlier version of the same one rather than with a later version. It would be good to know that *before* I get into the middle of the process. Paul Abrahams

There should be no problems Paul. YaST2 will replace or update any files that you choose to change. Lee -- --- KMail v1.6 --- SuSE Linux Pro v9.0 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...
