Re: Flaoming Ezekiel (was: Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] S.u.S.E. install does not have my CD-ROM)
Look, you obviously don't like this group. Why not simply unsubscribe or stop the stupid thread?? Why do you persist in posting your offtopic and irrelevent personal problems? It only makes you look foolish. I'm sorry if Lankton hurt your feelings, but it just seems sad that you have so much time on your hands... you seem to be the only one who needs to be in the SuSE 'twit filter' as you are the only one dragging the whole list into your trivial and exxagerated soap opera. -----Original Message----- From: Ezekiel J. Just a quick note: several offensive people are now in my twit filter. Any of them who send me private mail, will just have their messages dumped in the trash and deleted, as well as forwarded back to them. In other words: any message sent to me by one of these people, will just get bounced right back to them. I made it very clear many times over, I do not want personal mail.

Hi, I hate to do this, but it seems to be my job as maintainer of this list, to stop this awful thread. I got a lot of requests to remove Ezekiel, from the list. I don't want to do this now, but I'll do it soon, if this thread doesn't end right now. So please Ezekiel, stop posting private messages to the list, stop flaming people, or I have to unsubscribe you from this list. This list is for discussions around S.u.S.E. Linux, not to solve any personal problems and it's definitly not a forum for flamewars. Please send flames to alt.flames, keep this list free! There is no discussion about this, if this is going on, I will unsubscribe and blacklist everybody involved in this thread. Bodo, Some of the bigger companies notify subscribers that she/he will abide by the rules set by the owners of the listserver (this case SuSE). The rule file is sent to the subsriber when he/she joins the list and they are free to unsubscribe if they do not agree with the rules. If they choose to remain subscribed, they implicitly agree to the rules and hence the rules can be enforced on them. I guess, it also protects the companies from legal action as well. I strongly suggest SuSE does this. I would, even if I were running a listserver with few subscribers. I have also pleaded to various members at SuSE to make a digestified list. Are you folks giving it any thought? I would sure appreciate it. thanks. Arun Khan At 04:19 PM 98-05-26 -0700, you wrote:

Hello, This is my first post to suse-linux-e. I installed V5.2 a couple of weeks ago. When I connect via ppp over a modem everything works great. The only problem is while connected I keep getting strange characters being written to the message file under /var/log. Example: [a 5sa ] [ a[b 4 [ ... etc. This continues until I disconnect. Do I have something misconfigured and if so what? The message log file gets pretty large, currently almost 4 mb. <PRE> Does it say that pppd is doing it? (/var/log/messages tells you (usually) what program and/or job is sending the message). If so, have you checked for debugging flags turned on in either your script or your /etc/ppp/options.* file(s)??? On 28-May-98 Terry Eck wrote:
