[opensuse] OOO 2.3.1 crashes on save
Hi all, I am hoping for some advice on the latest updates to OpenOffice. I used Yast to upgrade the version of OpenOffice. openSuSe 10.2 OOO 2.3.1 Build 2.3.1.2 Current installed versions OpenOffice_org-hyphen-20070719-2.1 OpenOffice_org-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-writer-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-templates-presentation-layouts-2.0.4-25.1 OpenOffice_org-math-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-Quickstarter-1.0-610.1 OpenOffice_org-templates-en-2.0.4-10 OpenOffice_org-thesaurus-en-20060111-2.1 OpenOffice_org-devel-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-calc-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-base-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-gnome-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-templates-labels-letter-1.0-4.1 OpenOffice_org-filters-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-icon-themes-2.3.1.2-2.1 OpenOffice_org-draw-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-kde-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-pyuno-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-mailmerge-2.3.1.2-1.1 OpenOffice_org-templates-labels-a4-1.0-4.1 OpenOffice_org-openclipart-2-4.1 OpenOffice_org-impress-2.3.1.2-1.1 Crashes on save/ saves as. Windows pops up with: "Due to an unexpected error, OpenOffice.org crashed....." Similarly if you attempt to save as pdf it throws an error: "Error on saving Untitled 1 Wrong Parameter. The operation was started with an invalid parameter." Prior version I had installed worked the one before that had problems. Any hints on what might causing the problem? "Due to an unexpected error, OpenOffice.org crashed....."
Similarly if you attempt to save as pdf it throws an error:
"Error on saving Untitled 1 Wrong Parameter. The operation was started with an invalid parameter."
Prior version I had installed worked the one before that had problems.
Any hints on what might causing the problem?

I has to be a config/permission issue with your setup. Maybe try renaming your dotfiles for OOO? mv .openoffice.org2 .openoffice.org2.bak, make sure OOO is killed, then relaunch it. Or create a new user, and run OOO as that user, and see how that works. Lincoln Rutledge Network Engineer OSC Networking 800-627-6420

I have seen e-mails in this mailing list reporting similar problem, and it turned out that the user was trying to save files in directories he did not have permission to do so, like the ones owned by the root user. I have seen e-mails in this mailing list reporting similar problem, and it turned out that the user was trying to save files in directories he did not have permission to do so, like the ones owned by the root user.

So far the permissions of the user level directories look fine. I renamed .ooo-2.0 directory and had oo rebuild it and still no save. I will check the binaries next and see if there are any differences. I had a test 10.3 system so yupgraded OO on that and it works fine.
