Is anyone using the Acer 640 BU usb scanner under Suse 8.1? If so could you share how you managed to acheive this. Steve.
Steve, I have a Canon N670U USB scanner and I played with it over the weekend to make it work with my SuSE 8.0 box and it was a successful attempt. I found the SANE home page very useful and that is how I finally got it to work. Before that, I needed to tweak a couple of things in SuSE first. A quick question: if you go to your KDE Control Center -> Information -> USB, do you see your USB devices, and if so, do you see your scanner? Let me know if your USB ports do not show up there. Also try sane-find-scanner at the command line. Ali. On Monday 02 December 2002 01:21, Steve Nicholls wrote:
