On the other thread "linux vitualization", I asked for a usable virtualization system for lowend HW hosted online. One of the proposed solution is xen. However the doc: http://en.opensuse.org/Installing_Xen3 is very unclear. When one reboot with the xen kernel, does he boot the openSUSE complete system (manageable as usual) or a minimal system? "First after the reboot you have to create a filesystem which will be the root filesystem for your domU" what does this mean??? I don't need lot of details, only know if the xen machine is built on a file like virtualbox or vmware, or on a partition. I don't have lvm neither (always had problem with it). If yes , I will try it on my own desktop thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://valerie.dodin.org http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-eic8MSSfM http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1412160445 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

For linux on linux I wouldn't even look at xen or vmware or any full virtualization. Containers all the way. LXC, Virtuozo/OpenVZ, Vserver/FreeVPS http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-lxc-containers/index.html -- Brian K.
