Ok, this really has nothing to do with anything, but I just upgraded from 8.1 pro to 9.0 pro and I couldn't be happier!!!! Yast did it all, not catches during the upgrade. And now all the stuff I couldn't ever get to work quite right in 8.1 (sound, wireless, etc) works right after the install!!! (on a Sony Viao laptop PCGGRX600P) Woo Hoo!!!

Daniel.... I cannot say I had a successful upgrade, although all in all it's better than a clean install. When I went from 8.2 to 9.0, the boot got much longer and I kept getting many, many configuration file error messages. I decided to do a clean install of 9.0 and was unprepared for the consequences. It now takes over eleven minutes to warm boot to logon. Also, I found my Matrox G450 would not configure to dualhead - and NO installation support or any documentation for this feature (which worked well in 8.2 and the 9.0 upgrade from 8.2). Well I solved the dualhead problem (very easy if you can find out or figure out how to do it) but I have not solved the boot problem. I do not use the Linux desktop enough to make this effort worthwhile. With the same computer Suse 7.0, 7.1, 7.3, 8.0 and 8.3 all booted to logon in less than 3 minutes. Win2K boots in less than 3 minutes. I find this incredible. I've been very happy with my three SuSE Linux servers, but I find this incredible. Current plans - retire this aging AMD workstaion, abandon SuSE and go to Debian when it supports dual Opterons and SATA on the 2.6 kernel for a new workstation.
