Hi all ! I'm running SUSE Linux 10.0, x86. How to connect my machine's serail (COM1) to Cisco Router using router's "console" port ? I know the cabling, and under Windows (any version) I use HyperTerminal to connect to COM1, and it works, but how to do so under SUSE Linux ? KDE Konsole, which is a terminal emulator, is capable of connecting to COM1? or I need other software ? any recommendations ? -Alexey, 02.4.2006.

You need minicom, which is a terminal emulator that talks to serial ports. The Konqueror sort of "terminal emulator" is comparable to sitting at the keyboard and text monitor of a non-graphical interface. It does not talk to serial ports.
