[SuSE Linux] PCMCIA troubles
Sorry about reposting this, but I was zombified when I previously posted it with the wrong subject title. Hi all, I have a IBM 755CX thinkpad with PCMCIA slots, and using Suse 5.2 they don't work. I've tried cardmgr and have looked in '/proc/devices' (nothing there) and lsmod shows nothing either. With RH 5.1, it just came up working. So I know they *should* work. I d'led the latest PCMCIA driver and installed it, but it's still not working. In fact, cardmgr doesn't give out any messages whatsoever and as far as I can tell, doesn't do anything. The how-to and the man page (other than the need to install the latest-n-greatest driver) didn't really point me anywhere. Can anybody help? Well, this is strange. There have been no major problems with PCMCIA in 5.2, although some people have reported problems in 5.3

Hmm, AFAIK RH 5.1 uses CS-3.0.0 and we are already at 3.0.4. Do you know how the working package is configured? How did you configure the package when using the newest version? Did you activate cardbus support?

I'm currently investigating this problem, but I have no machine that shows the problems. Distribution makers love broken machines. Once you wrote that, I knew that I hadn't been looking in right place. So I went through Yast again and found it tucked away in the system settings. Sigh, so much for reading the documentation first... It's working fine now, thanks!
