Hi! I have P-I with 32M RAM. SuSE8.2 was intalled to HDD on another computer. When P-I is booted, there are messages: ---------- freed unused kernel memory ... INIT: Id "3" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 min #The same messages appear for ids 1-6... INIT: open (/dev/console) input/output error ---------- Whether I can use this computer with SUSE8.2 or I need to install on it 7.3 only?

and also, check what kernel is installed... I would use k_smp instead of k_deflt :)
Mmmm? Why? Instead, I would recompile the kernel for a "Pentium-Classic" on the other machine he has. And maybe remove a bunch of modules. But I think the problem is not the kernel, but some other program:
INIT: Id "3" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 min
There is info about that in the SDB: Support knowledgebase (maddin_respawn) |> When programs that have been started by init through /etc/inittab are |> terminated very quickly several consecutive times, the corresponding |> entry in /etc/inittab is disabled and can no longer be started.
