Hi, I was wondering if anybody could give me any good advice about the problem that I am facing. I am trying to install SuSE 6.3 as a dual OS with Win '98. Both OS will reside on the same hard drive. I use to have Mandrake's Linux installed with no problems. I loaded LILO in the MBR for Mandrake's Linux. When I booted up my computer I could chose between the commands "dos" for Win'98 and "Linux" for Linux. I uninstalled Mandrake's Linux inorder to install SuSE 6.3. With SuSE 6.3 I installed LILO in the MBR and the only commands I am allowed to enter is "SuSe" and "Linux" which both commands boot up Linux. How can I configure LILO so that one of the commands at the LILO prompt can boot up Win '98? I am opened to suggestions!! 2 ways: 1) Edit /etc/lilo.conf directly, then run lilo ; or 2) Yast -> system administration -> kernel and boot configuration. I know this works with yast1 (console) -- I don't know about yast2. cll -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

You have to tell LILO that there is also a Windos that you may want to boot. There are two ways to do this: either configure LILO with YaST (there is a menu somewhere in YaST to do this but I'm not at my Linux box now), or edit the LILO configuration file /etc/lilo.conf and re-run /sbin/lilo. For help on lilo do a 'man lilo' (I think there is also a 'man lilo.conf') or read the manual that came with your SuSE distro. Also make sure you have a boot floppy available (create it with YaST) so that you can always reboot Linux from floppy in case you messed up LILO.
