In Suse 10.0 after complete new installation, I put in an audio cd, Tchaikovsky. Open it Kscd, it does not get the artist etc. only Unknown Artist, same with Konqueror audiocd:/. However, if I open it in CD Ripper (sound Juicer), it shows album title, artist, etc. If I put in a Willie Nelson cd, all three show the album and artist correctly. An explanation would be greatly appreciated. Art

Might the different applications be using different CD-databases? And is your Willie Nelson CD perhaps registered in all of them whereas your Tchaikovsky isn't? (I'm just guessing). /Per Jessen, Zürich

Also, I've found that on one of the apps - Amarok I think? - the CDDB was pointing incorrectly to a local source. I forget which one. -- kai www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part
