After nearly 8 months I have yet to get a satisfactory solution to getting my AMI/LSI megaraid controller, using the CMD 649 chipset to work under various flavors of Linux. Going back to me earlierattemps I discovered, with SuSE 7.1 (2.4.0) using a driver a kind person sent me, I see the following after insmmod -force: MegaIDE: MegaRAID IDE driver version 01.01.21 MegaIDE: MegaRAID IDE firmware version 2.5.02112205 mr0: RAID10 status=ONLINE capacity=351328 drives=4 hde: WRITE CACHE enabled hde: READ AHEAD enabled hde: DMA enabled hdf: WRITE CACHE enabled hdf: READ AHEAD enabled hdf: DMA enabled hdg: WRITE CACHE enabled hdg: READ AHEAD enabled hdg: DMA enabled hdh: WRITE CACHE enabled hdh: READ AHEAD enabled hdh: DMA enabled ... However, with the newer kernels including 2.4.18 I always see: megaraid: v1.14b (Release Date: Jan 18, 2001; 17:06) megaraid: no bios enabled. I see the exact same thing with megaraid driver version up to 1.18 and 1.18a ! Looks like support is getting WORSE? Babu __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
