I set up xchat to auto start from the Computer menu and then decided I didn't want it to autostart. I went back to the program on the computer menu and removed the autostart selection however xchat still autostarts. Anyone know which file/directory to modify to stop the autostart of a program.

shut it down. The log out (end current session). Then log back in and see if it restarts. Part of this is KDE restarting applications that were previously running. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen

Hi, I am using Gnome and I make sure that xchat is closed before logging out, but it still restarts upon login into Gnome. -- Best Regards, Keith BC246T TCL/Tk Control & Program Tool http://home.comcast.net/~kilowattradio/ftp/

Desktop -> GNOME Control Center, scroll down and open 'Sessions', select the 'Startup Programs' tab... if xchat remains listed there disable/remove as desired. hth & regards, Carl
TNX Carl I found it in Current Sessions then I removed it and now xchat doesn't start when I log in. :-) On Tue, 2006-08-29 at 22:06 -0400, Carl Hartung wrote:

It sounds like you haven't exited xchat before exiting KDE. By default, KDE will autostart all applications which were running when you exited it last. -- ----- stephan@s11n.net http://s11n.net "...pleasure is a grace and is not obedient to the commands of the will." -- Alan W. Watts
